Tongfu Soup Preliminary Studies To Improve Gastrointestinal Motility Mechanism Of The Gastroparesis Syndrome

Objective:By observing the level of gastrointestinal hormones of patients with PGS through Comparison of the application with the Tongfu decoction treatment and western medicine only, Tongfu decoction improved gastrointestinal motility function which was related to the significant improvement in hormones'levels.Methods:By taking randomized grouping method, patients were divided into two groups, N=20. One group was treated by western medicine conservative treatment. Another group was treated by Tongfu decoction and western conservative treatment. The two groups were observed and compared between each other by means of clinical signs and changes of gastrointestinal hormone levels.Results:Gastrointestinal hormones (MOT, VIP, SS) were responded to the Tongfu decoction. The change of gastrointestinal hormones can promote recovery of gastrointestinal function.Conclusion:The mechanism that improved gastrointestinal motility function of patients with PGS is through changing in gastrointestinal hormone levels and thus promoting the recovery of gastrointestinal function.
