A lot of theory and practice show that, as a high-level strategic form of the urbanization, the megalopolis can not only promote the development of urbanization, but also promote the coordination of economic and social development of the megalopolis. In December 2007,the State Council of China formally announced Wuhan megalopolis as "resource-saving and environment-friendly society" comprehensive reform pilot area, Two years passed, Wuhan megalopolis has made a great progress in economic growth, and has played a significant role in the development of surrounding areas. However, compared to the well-developed Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta megalopolis and Jingjinji megalopolis, Wuhan megalopolis are still fairly far behind both in the core citiy or in the overall development. Industry cluster is an effective way to get the access to comparative advantage and regional economic differentiation, the scholars has demonstrated for so many times that industry clusters and regional economic development is in close contact. So, developing the industrial clusters correctly and planning them rationally in different areas is the key to get steady and swift development of Wuhan megalopolisBased on existing results of industrial clusters and regional economics basic theories, I using a combination of theoretical and practical method to research the industrial clusters of Wuhan megalopolis. This article is divided into four parts. The first part is an import part. This section first summarizes the basic theories and the latest results of industry cluster researching, including the definition classification, inherent developing mechanism, competitive advantage of industrial clusters and so on. Then, the article describes the main indicators and models for industrial clusters analyzing. The basic theories and evaluation tools provide the theoretical basis for my later researching. The second part is the empirical analysis of industrial clusters in Wuhan urban circle. First, this article introduces the basic and overall development situation of Wuhan industrial clusters, and then summarizes the industrial clusters'development pattern. Next, I select the data from the Statistical Yearbook to calculate the location quotient of 28 manufacturing industries. On this basis, I use Porter's "Diamond Model" to analyze the competitiveness of three most representative industrial clusters in the megalopolis. Finally, I get a conclusion of general development station of Wuhan megalopolis. The third component is to do comparative study. One hand, I make a comparison of industrial clusters'development between the Wuhan megalopolis and the other three great megalopolises in China. On the other hand, this article summarizes the experiences of successful industrial clusters in the world, such as Silicon Valley and "the third Italy".The last part gives the advice and strategy for the rational development of industrial clusters in Wuhan megalopolis. |
