Dalian City Seabed Geological Disasters Vulnerability Assessment

In recent years, research in the seabed geologic disaster assessment have caused widespread concern by International community and the general concern of academics. Vulnerability assessment is an important part of evaluation on disaster seabed geologic hazard risks, and more and more attention has been paid on the assessment.For enhance disaster prevention and mitigation capacity, this thesis designing indexes system of evaluation and do assessment system of the vulnerability of social economy caused by geological hazards in Dalian. In the first place, expound the concept of seabed geologic disaster, the relationship of seabed geologic disaster and sustainable development. after that, choose fifteen evaluation index from four areas, namely, society, property, natural resource and capacity of disaster prevention and disaster reduction, establish an indices system of evaluation for vulnerability of seabed geologic disaster in Dalian, collect useful data, in the last place, calculate vulnerability. The results show that the level of vulnerable degree in Dalian is not too high, but different district in Dalian with wide spread. The analysis of vulnerability zoning shows that Shahekou district are the most frangible area, next is Zhongshan district, Xigang district Jinzhou district, Changhai country, Wafangdian and zhuanghe, the least frangible area is Ganjingzi district, Lushunkou district and Pulandian. The reason of widespread of vulnerability is social economic development factors and social structure. There are many factors to lead to High Vulnerability of Shahekou district, namely, high level of economic development, high population density, too many depend on marine economy, fisheries development.On the basis of analysis results, to table a proposal to lower the vulnerability, they are Strengthen the organization and management, Increase awareness of disaster prevention, Strengthen disaster forecasting and warning system, Establish and improve the emergency management system, Guide the regional socio-economic and rational development of a balanced economic structure, Rational utilization of marine resources. At last, several main seabed disasters are analyzed and measures for reducing and preventing the pollution are brought out.
