Study Of Local Government Food Safety Regulatory Issues

With the growing development of economy and society, food safety has become one of the most attentive focuses in the world. As a developing country with big population, although manifold research and practice over food safety inspection were conducted, the current situation of food safety is not optimistic yet due to the difficulty and complexity of food safety problem. One of the fundamental functions of government is protecting the consumers' life and health safety. As public administration section, how to make use of limited public resources to conduct efficient inspection over food safety has been an important task for government of all levels. Under such circumstance, this article through theory of public administration and management, research the problems and deficiency of food safety inspection of local government, discuss methods of food safety inspection task and put forward relevant measures proposal.The article includes four parts. The first part introduces the research background, meaning, keystones and methods. The second part, take Zhengzhou city as individual example, investigating the achievements and problems of food safety inspection, analyzing the main cause of present problems. The thirds parts introduces the good experience of developed countries and its reference sense to us. The last parts combining the practical situation of Zhengzhou city, put forward the measures proposals of how to reasonably use public resources to strengthen food safety inspection.
