As an important export commodities of our country, export portion of electromechanical products is increasing year by year, and it has been China's largest export commodities after overstepping textiles in 1995. At present, this industry has become China's highest level and the most competitive industry in marketization and internationalization, and it formed a batch of large-scale enterprises with international competitive power on some products. These enterprises have occupied not only the advantage position in the share of the home market, but also a space in international market. But since the 1990s, with the prevalence of TBT to international trade, more than half of export enterprises of the electromechanical products have been plagued by technical barriers to trade in our country. Now technical barriers to trade has already become the main obstacle for the expansion on the export of electromechanical products in China. There is a great need for industrial and academia circles in China to study and resolve subjects which are how to think about and deal with technical barriers to trade correctly, and how to strengthen the core competitive power of electromechanical products and succeed in breaking through TBT. Therefore, it is a great practical significance for us to launch about the impact of TBT on export of electromechanical products and carry out research into finding the effective Countermeasures.This article commences from the definition of TBT, introducing and summarizing the research results of scholars at home and abroad about the determination and division of TBT, and analyzing the characteristic and development trend of TBT correlated with electromechanical products briefly. And then it dissects closely the domestic and international causes of TBT in China that our electromechanical products encounter.
