In the past few years, the food safety issues have become a focus to which people pay increasing attention beacause food safety accidents occur from time to time. Government, as a functional mannagement department, has the responsibility and obligation to supervise and monitor the food safety issues so as to stable social economic development as well as guarantee the people's life safety. How tomake use of limited resources to supervise and monitor food safety issues efficiently has become an important task for every government.This paper, with NanTong food production and processing link safetysupervision being its object, thinks and designs a food safety supervising system with Chinese characteristics. At first, the paper analyses food safety supervising mode at home and abroad on the basis of sumerising the relatively basic concepts and theories. Secondly, it constructs a NanTong mode of of the food production and processing link according to the specific characteristics of food production and processing. Finally, it suggests some measures and policies to enhance production and processing supervising model, and analyses the supervising effects. As an exploration, Nantong food production and processing supervising model as great reference value to the food production supervision in the whole province or even the whole nantion at this stage.
