A Hotel Energy Management Project Research

With rapid development of tourism industry, China's hotel business has been showing a good prospect. However, few hotels get high earning level because of keen competition. To consolidate and strength marketing ability to compete, a hotel enterprise has to discard its former extensive operation procedure to average up its own profit level in the end.On the average, power source account for 30-40% of a hotel's total cost expenditure.In author's opinion, energy power management of a hotel is an affair not only for some or other departments. Energy conservation, in energy management, is merely one side but not all. It is a necessity to establish an Integrated and scientific energy management system.With the thought of project management and 6-sigma managerial theory, this article, templated on a 4-star A HOTEL and based on 5W–Principle, researched hotel energy management as following :WHAT: What is hotel energy management? A new viewpoint is processed: energy management is regarded as a project.WHY: Why is energy management regarded as a project?HOW: How to undertake hotel energy management with project management theory?WHO: who to undertake hotel energy management with project management theory?WHEN: when to undertake hotel energy management with project management theory?Focused on hotel energy management, the thesis discuss its frame and structure from all sources, including production, transportation, and utilization, lucubratedly and systematically process a scientific idea: to establish a scientific and effective hotel energy management system to match modern hotel management demand and requirement, so as to promote and update hotels'sustainable development and society's harmonious development. Simultaneously, as a hotel manager, the author gives a viewpoint that is a scientific combination of project management and hotel management. To put project management knowledge into practice, and to research its practicability is helpful not only for the author to systemize and consolidate professional knowledge, but also for readers to analyze hotel management and guide practical work.
