As a new field in organizational behavior, the organizational politics has received wide attention in the western academic world. But the domestic study in this field is stagnant probably because of the ethical concerns. The domestic scholars mainly focus on the brief introduction to this field or the classic model of Perception of Organizational Politics (POP) by Ferris. There are few empirical studies and the existing ones are basically repeating the same framework adopted by western studies. The only difference is the source of the data.Organizational politics indicates all kinds of activities the individuals or groups in the organization involve to adopt, develop and use the power and other kinds of resources. (Pfeffer, 1992) The author notices that the studies in the past emphasize the influence of the organizational politics on the individuals. But actually, the organizational politics environment also affects the organizational culture as a whole. In other words, the organizational politics has a great influence on the organizational level.Hence, the author uses the commonly recognized scales measuring the POP (perceptions of organizational politics), organizational culture and job satisfaction to examine the match between the organizational politics and culture. By analyzing almost 200 questionnaires filled by MBA candidates using SPSS, the author concludes that there is close relationship between the POP and organizational cultures. Furthermore, the match between the value held by employees and the culture sponsored by the companies also influences the POP. As a result, to enhance and facilitate a healthy organizational culture, and to recruit from the potential employee pool that hold similar value of employers could help to ease the negative effects brought by organizational politics.
