Applicable Research Of 6 Sigma Project And Ahp For Cable Product Process Improvement

Better quality & cost than competitor's is the key factor to a company's living and high-speed development under global competitive environment. It is impossible that one type process or product exceed competitor's over long time in the world full of information. Under the pressure of quality improvement and cost saving, how to organize and execute process improvement is the key point to a company's success. To achieve this target, 6 Sigma Project is adopted by Foxconn, but many issues have been revealed during the actual project process, such as how to decide the optimized improvement proposal etc, these issues greatly affected the maximum effects of 6 Sigma project. The objective of this thesis is to set up 6 Sigma model for cable product process improvement, and perform preliminary study of the application of AHP to proposal decision-making in above-mentioned Project.Six chapters are included in this thesis. Chapter one is about the introduction that mainly included background, state of the study, contents, study process and so on. In chapter two, the traditional operation model of cable product process improvement project in Foxconn is presented. In chapter three, the basic principle of 6 Sigma and the problem & shortcoming of current 6 Sigma project operation of Foxconn are analyzed. In chapter four, the principle of AHP, and the scheme of the application of AHP in cable product process improvement are stated. In chapter five, the cable product process improvement 6 Sigma model is set up through the example of LCD display module signal transmittal cable of Notebook computer, and AHP is applied to decide the importance of improvement proposal. In chapter six, the conclusion is given, and the further improvement work is brought up.
