The Study Of Quality Improvement For V3 Product By Six Sigma Method In VT Company

Quality management runs through every process of enterprises.Its modes have been upgraded from quality inspection phase in the early 1940s to six-sigma management which presented by the Motorola Inc.in 1980s.Nowadays,six-sigma methodology has infiltrated enterprise management improvement process,in particular for quality improvement process.It has turned into one of the most important quality improvement tools.In this thesis is V3,a product from VT Company,will be taken as a researching example,the application of six-sigma will be studied for this product in quality improvement.VT Company is an enterprise producing full exterior lighting lamps for automobile OEM.V3 product was a new product launched in the end of 2016 in VT Company,as well as one of the key landmark products in the company.After V3 product launched,the first time through(FTT)was just about 65%,nevertheless the target from customer was 90%.For the sake of improving V3 product's FTT,VT Company decided to introduce six-sigma management.In this thesis DMAIC(R)methodology will be utilized to study quality issues of V3 product in VT Company based on the inductive researching of six-sigma theory.In Define Phase,the quality issues of V3 product process will be introduced and researched,six-sigma project team will be formed and project target will also be established;the study and research of measurement system will be completed in Measure Phase;during Analyze Phase,key factors,which affect product quality,will be identified by using fish-bone analysis,FMEA analysis etc.;process parameters of identified key factors will be optimized in Improve Phase;in Control Phase,the optimal parameters will be managed and controlled accordingly;in the end,the project lessons learned sharing and read across will be implemented.Ultimately,the average FTT of V3 product achieves 91.9%,reaches and exceeds the initial target,satisfies the customer's requirement.In conclusion,this experiment demonstrates that six-sigma tool is an effective way to improve product quality.
