Study Of The Effect Of Application Of Erp Systems In Large Enterprises In China

Application of ERP management information system is anationwide hot topic. It has an important bearing on our nationalinformation project, management efficiency and working environmentsfor enterprise staff. There are especially three key problems to be solved.It may be questioned whether ERP enterprise management informationsystem should be adopted and whether it will help achieve the expectedresults or not and how to put it into practice. This thesis insists thatresearch into the results from application of it in the existing Chineseenterprises is the key to solving the three mentioned problems. Throughanalysis of general effect features of ERP system in Chinese enterprises,further knowledge about the system will be gained and before decidingwhether to adopt the system and in what section it should be used orenhanced. This thesis suggests a short-term assessment on effects of thesystem and a long-term one be combined. The author adopts method ofprincipal component analysis to make a short-term evaluation from theperspective of enterprise financial analysis and finds that application ofERP system has not brought about outstanding benefits, in another word,it is relatively a failure; while the author adopts method of fuzzyevaluation to make a long-term evaluation from the perspective ofBalance Scoring Card and finds, as a result, that application of ERP system in Chinese enterprises has achieved a better effect, but of lowerquality. It remains to be improved in such aspects as customers andinternal business procedures and requires that some wrong ideas aboutdevelopment of the enterprise and its staff be changed. In accordancewith the working result of these two evaluation systems, this thesis triesto analyze by means of Games Theory what strategies and policies anenterprise should take to develop itself and then concludes that completeapplication of ERP system is the best choice for an enterprise. Meanwhile,the author also puts forward some suggestions on successfulimplementation of ERP system in an enterprise in light with analysis onwhere the system is necessary and how to put it into real practice.
