The Cultural Connotation Of Chengdu Recreational Tourism

With the improving of our living condition nowadays,people get much more interest in going back to nature.As a result,more and more people are passionate in Leisure-time Travel. This thesis, from the angle of culture,is a positive research into its role and function of the Leisure-time Travel in Chengdu which includes the discussion of Cultural Value of the Leisure -time Travel in Chengdu and some suggestions for it as well. The following parts are the main contents of the thesis.Part one is an introduction. At the beginning, it briefly introduces the research background of the Leisure-time Travel including both the theoretical and practical importance of this thesis. Then it summarizes the existing researches of the Leisure and Leisure-time travel both home and abroad. At the same time, it shows the research sources and the main contents. At the end of the introduction, it points out some new ideas and some flaws as well.Part two is about the concept of the Leisure-time travel and some other relevant concepts. Besides expounding the concepts of Leisure, Travel and Leisure-time travel, this part also analyses the three concepts and shows the relationships among them. Then it discusses the factors for the generating and developing of the leisure-time travel through comparing the leisure-time travel and the traditional sensual indulgent travel.Part three mainly discusses the generating factors and the features of the leisure-time travel in Chengdu. It shows the factors from both the nature resources in Chengdu and the culture of it. According to these two parts, it summarizes the features of the leisure-time travel in Chengdu.Part four is the positive research into its role and function of the Leisure-time Travel in Chengdu. Consisting of three different leisure-time travels (the travel in the city, at the outskirts of the city and at the outer suburbs), the research is done with the inspection of two separate tourism destinations picked from the travels at the three parts of the city.Part five talks about the cultural value of the leisure-time travel in Chengdu. Basing on the inspection of the distinguishing culture of the leisure-time travel in Chengdu, this part discusses the cultural value from three aspects including the development of the society, the construction of the city and the aspect of individual developing.Part six is some suggestions for developing the leisure-time travel in Chengdu. Besides developing the material culture resources of the leisure-time travel at a moderate degree, this part suggests us pay enough attention to developing the non-material culture resources to add more traditional and historical culture to the practice of tourism. It also suggest us hold some local theatrical performances and public activities to develop the recognition of the tourism destination in addition to the conventional media advertising like newspapers, radio and the internet.Part seven is the conclusion comprising the outline and the main points of this dissertation. This part also concludes the limitations of the dissertation and shows the possible direction of the future research as well.The main two innovations of this dissertation: The first point, the angle and method of the research are distinctive. It is common to do the research from the angle of culture or functions. This dissertation, however, is innovative by doing a positive research into its role and function through the angle of culture. It stresses the inspection of the distinguishing culture of the leisure-time travel in Chengdu at the same time.The second point, this dissertation has a different and unique idea of the leisure-time travel. Many scholars raise lots of suggestions and methods for exploring and developing the leisure-time travel, but nearly no one mentions about putting the leisure-time travel together with the activities for public good. The author holds the idea that by introducing the activities for public good, it can add more social value to the leisure-time travel and more recognition to the tourism destination as well.
