MES (Manufacturing Execution System, for short MES) is a management information system for the workshop layer, which lies in the production manufacturing process between the upper layer of plan-management and the lower layer of industrial control. It can provide workshop managers with real-time information about the execution and trace of product planning, resource allocation and so on. It also can control the production process and guarantee the production process in order. MES is a bridge that spans and fills up the gap between the planning systems and direct industrial controls. It is becoming an effective method for the product management and the workshop floor control. At present, the urgent problems need to be solved in aviation manufacturing NC workshops are transparentizing management and prompting production. MES is an advanced management concept aiming at such problems. It can solve the management problems in aviation manufacturing NC workshops by carrying out real time management of the production scenes, improving the ability of response to face emergency situation, and improving management level.Firstly, this thesis introduces the concept of MES, its frame models and its development situation in home and abroad. Then, by combination with the characteristics of the aviation numerical workshops, the thesis focuses research on problems including the functions of MES in the management of aviation numerical workshops, the constitution of its functions, its systematical structure and systematical integration, etc. Finally, based on the above research on MES in NC workshops and having the NC workshop in M cooperation as a case study, the thesis makes systematical analysis and modeling of MES, constructs ten concrete subsystems, establishes a MES for the NC workshop combining with B/S and C/S by using program language like ASP, C# and Oracle, etc., This case study develops seven subsystems including production planning and scheduling management, human resources management and equipment maintenance management, etc. This system works well in practice; it can be mutually operated on line; with the expected effects, it proves to be an effective pilot for the MES in the aviation manufacturing NC workshops.
