The research is about present status of control of forest diseases and pests. It proposes the model of forest diseases and pests decision supporting system (DSS) which based on database and data mining technology. The model is about the need of diagnosis and prevention of forest diseases and pests and it based on research of development and application of intelligence decision supporting system combinated with OLAP technology, data transformation and generalization technology, data mining technology and knowledge about Forest Diseases and Insects. The corresponding intelligence decision supporting system can provides decision maker with related knowledge, policy information and solutions.The DSS composed of man-machine interactive system module, diseases and pests database interface module, data mining and analysis module. Man-machine interactive system module guide decision maker dialoging with the intelligence decision supporting system, making mining mission and providing results with decision maker. Database interface module provides connection between application and database. Besides it, the module accomplishes access of data and generates training set and information table of testing set. Data mining and analysis module which is main resource of knowledge can mine knowledge from database and prepare reliable rules for use, including separate division of condition attribute of diseases and pests, concept partition, calling inference engine and interpreter and providing users conclusions and interpretation. In this system, we bring an idea called Star Schema which makes data unified whole and provides global data view.The system which have been generalized in forestry bureau based on history and experiment data of Northeast Region. The result indicates this system help decision maker make use of system data further and more efficiently. It also supplies powerful support for making timely policy. Scientific and intelligent administration standard of urban green belt diseases and pests achieves with it. The application of data mining technology improves value of the system, which support society making scientific,harmonious and sustainable development and favorable ecology entironment.
