Studies On Qos Metrics Measurement Of Dht Network

With the rapid development of Peer-to-peer technologies, the proportion of P2P traffic on internet is increasing, which has become more intensified for internet. DHT (Distributed Hash Table) has also begun to be widely used in a variety business as a hot spot of P2P technology. Because of this, the performance requirements of the P2P technology are increasing. Apart from ensuring the distribution, scalability and other basic functions of the system, it is needed to know the performance parameters of network and node, such as network delay, end-to-end bandwidth, node network performance, which provide decision support for the entire system optimizing. Therefore, the paper is providing decision support for P2P applications performance optimization with network measurement approach, real-time accessing to the DHT network performance and underlying network performance, collecting DHT network running time network performance parameters, analyzing the state of DHT network .At the first, The paper researches on the development of p2p technology and DHT network typical mechanism, then analyzes the characteristics of DHT network, expands the performance metrics, establishes the query mechanisms of DHT network performance, and designs a measurement system for the expanding the performance indicators.The main content of this thesis are as follows:(1) In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of DHT layer, abstracted the factor of affect performance and designed the DHT layer metrics, according to the principles and standards of metrics designing and referring to the IP layer's metrics.(2) This paper analyzes the DHT network query and transfer process and designed a new query mechanism for DHT network performance measurement.(3) In this paper, we designed and implemented a distributed DHT network measurement system, which applicable the new performance measurement mechanism. Through experiments, we validated the feasibility of the system and the mechanism.
