Research On Traffic Facility Management System Based On Webgis

With the rapid development of urban road traffic system, the type and quantity of transportation facilities are increasing. A large number of transport facility data which has a strong spatial distribution, has caused many difficulties to the facilities management department.In this paper, by analyzing the development and management of transport facilities both at home and abroad, it was found that there are still many problems in the area of the traffic facilities management at present, especially lack of a scientific and efficient software systems of the facility management. Therefore, the overall framework of the system was designed after full understanding of the demand of facilities management department.The problem of the location information storage was solved by reasonable design of spatial database, attribute information and their relationship with the application of GIS technology. Based on the B/S mode which had the advantages of not installing client software and high-performance of the distributed management system, Web was used to provide management and released facility information. Finally, some main functions of the facility management system with WebGIS were realized, such as user management, geographic information management, data updating, data editing, facilities information inquiry, statistics, facilities optimization.The traffic facility management system based on WebGIS was developed on the .NET platform with the application of the secondary development COM-MapXtreme. The system got rid of the traditional management way, provided the management department with visualized, convenient information management platform.
