Study On Medical Image Displaying And Processing Based On Dicom Standard

This thesis begins with a profound analysis of the Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) standard which is applied widely in Medical Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS), and then introduces the design and implementation of medical image processing tool based on DICOM standard.There are mainly three parts in this thesis. In the first part, DICOM standard is investigated, the main architecture of the DICOM standard and the DICOM file format is described in detail, with the method for parsing and construction of DICOM files given at last;In the second part, the display technology of medical image under Windows flat is studied. The medical image in DICOM format can not be displayed directly under Windows plat. So in this dissertation the DICOM image is displayed by converting DICOM format into BMP format.In the third part, introduces the tool of the medical image processing based on DICOM standard, realizes the fuction of image enhancement and restoration, image segmentation, the image morphology operation and geometric transformation, provides a convenient aids for doctor's diagnosis.This paper realizes a common image processing functions using the images that based on DICOM standard , the results show that the system can provide more reliable scientific basis, greatly improved diagnostic accuracy and correction for doctor.
