The medicine image fusion synthesizes images from different time and multi-modality video information in the same place, obtains organizes or organ's richer pictorial information about the pathological change. The DICOM standard is used for medicine image storage, the transmission, the exchange digital phantom and the correspondence, in the PACS system it is the internationalization communication protocol which widely follows at present. This paper studies medicine image fusion methods and the fusion effect appraisal based on the DICOM standard. This paper introduced the DICOM standard's structure and the content in detail, elaborated the image file organization and the coding rule complied with DICOM, and realized this standard partial functions, including the decoding of medical images, adjusting the window-width and window-level, displaying DICOM images with DIB and so on.Two groups of fusion experiments, degrade images on ideal windows and images from different windows of the same image, were carried out in this paper, such as max-value selection, linear weighted average, area energy fusion, PCA fusion and other methods based on wavelet transform, what can be done to fusion performance in space region and frequency about DICOM files. According to the directional character and the neighbor area character of wavelet coefficients, this thesis improved fusion method based on area energy and put a new image fusion algorithm based on the directional co-relation of wavelet coefficients. At last, the evaluation of subjectivity and objectivity about fusion results from this two methods shows that the author's methods are effective.
