With the rapid development of IT and the increase of entertainment, 3 networks (Telephone, Computer and TV) are being merged together to carry voice, data and video, which is called triple-play. On the other hand, it also happens in our home (TV set, Computer and Information Appliance).Interactiver TV(ITV) is the outcome of triple-play, it offers kinds of services, such as Broadcasting TV, VOD, Timeshifting, etc. ITV has become the core of Digital Home.ITV has two different camps, which are Telecom Operators on IP network and MSOs on HFC networks. Nowadays, IPTV has been commercially depolyed in Shanghai and Harbin. In the same time, digital TV has been developping rapidly. Abundant added-value services will be the key of the successful transition to NGCN. ITV has attracted a lot of attention and practice. ITV will be the most important interactive service.The thesis expounds the specialties of IP network and HFC, analyses the diffrences between the ITV based on HFC and IPTV. It demonstrates"2 in 1",which means LiveTV over HFC DVB system and ITV over IP network, is the best mode of digital TV system. The thesis brings forward the thought of dynamic matching mechanism of STB and IPQAM, which is self-adapting to the network adjustment and STB replacement. It also introduces 2-level load banlancing and distributing resource management mechanism, which can reduce the pressure of command center, and meet the needs of big-scale commercial deployment.Combined with the practice of WuXi ITV project, it introduces the whole flow of AAA and VOD. Besides the special mode and demands of hotel subscribers, it also presents the EPG pressure test and conclusion.ITV has diplex genes of TV and Internet, it'll be influenced by the developments and technical improvements in both two fields. For example, P2P is able to be replanted in STB from Internet to bring new businesses, such as download. HD is more and more popular in DTV, and is also the future of ITV. It brings more rigorous demands to the carrier network and system. With the combination of local HFC networks, there will be more challenges to expansibility, reliability and compatibility.With the development of ITV, the number of subscribers will increase ceaseless. It'll be very important to analyze the network flow and user behaviors to adjust the CDN and bandwidth, so that ITV system can be run safer and more stable. Optimization will be another emphasis of the work in the future.
