This thesis focuses on research of multi factor estimation methods of Life Cycle Cost (LCC). Based on the research, a set of library was developed to provide scientific analysis of cost estimation. This software can be used to characterize the product design based on the factors that affect the product LCC. The software will build a product LCC database, then select an appropriate method for estimation and analysis of the product LCC. These cost estimation methods consist of Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), back propagation (BP) neural networks, neural network optimization methods based on genetic algorithm, algorithm ensemble, neural network ensemble, and so on. An sample analysis of some SUV production information using the software was provide at the end of the thesis.The mainly research includes the following:1. Optimized BP neural network model based on Matlab toolboxes, BP neural network and genetic algorithm were applied in LCC estimation. According to the characteristics of LCC estimation, the multi-factors cost estimation model was established and the Matlab programs were built.2. CBR, neural networks, algorithm ensemble and network ensemble was applied in LCC estimation.3. Designed and implemented a LCC estimation database system.The method of information exchange with other relative systems (such as Matlab, Excel) was researched and developed based on .net interface and interacting technology. The manner of subassembly plug and play and information access based on software highway was researched. Generally, this software should be open, easy to maintain and modify. The estimation method in the software can be selected and compared for different requirements.4. Empirical analysis of the method database system on LCC estimationAiming at SUV, interrelated parameter of LCC was researched in a quantitative and standardized way. All factors that might influence product LCC in the whole process of product development cycle was analyzed in a systematical and integrated way with the determination of all product LCC estimation related parameters leading up to the empirical research to the method database system platform and LCC estimation based on SUV vehicles.
