With the continuous development of mobile communication networks, and handset capabilities continue to increase, particularly based on WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) as represented by the dramatic fall in tariffs 3G networks, mobile terminals based on the wireless value-added services to promote faster and faster. The Mobile IM software as an important part of value-added services for mobile phone networks offers a great convenience. IMPS(Instant Message & Presence Service), as a unified standard over IM, becomes an important direction of research as many organizations, like Lucent, Cisco Systems, France Telecom, etc.This paper studies on IMPS client terminal system in which a variety of commonly used from the current co-opted to use the XCAP (XML Configuration Access Protocol) protocol as a blueprint. Explored through the system, protocol, system design, a number of steps carried out for the IMPS system practice. In this paper, the overall concept, physical composition, information formats such aspects as described IMPS system. This paper Studied with the XCAP protocol RFC documents, RFC4285.
