As the load of urban traffic system increasingly aggravated accompanying vehicle population increase, the traffic accident caused by backing car became more and more, which often brought the great economic loss to drivers. So it is very necessary to develop the study on the high performance range finder for parking. Based on the ultrasonic distance measurement principle and according to the concrete demand of drivers in the car backing process, the method that a design of ultrasonic range finder for parking based on CAN bus has been given in this paper. This paper draws on existing range finder for parking in the field of technology, combined with the practical application of automotive engineering, in order to avoid vehicle collision accident in a parking process, the design based on CAN bus parking assist device, CAN network to share information with other nodes with real-time through the dashboard display and obstacle distance, voice-grade alarm function, and can automatically brake to judge risk. The ultrasonic distance measurement and alarm display part of the separate parts were articulated in the CAN bus, parking assist device improves the reliability and integration. To the driver when parking or reversing can install in the car dashboard figures show clearly that the situation of the rear body; automatic brake, which greatly improve the efficiency of reversing and parking and security.The hardware and software design was detailed introduced, and also the system had been builds in a circuit board. With respect to hardware,we choose the UDP78F0891 of NEC series. The software design part of the system was divided into several function modules with modular design method, such as main program, temperature measurement module, ultrasonic distance measuring module, LCD display module, and voice alarm module. The main program was responsible for dispatching management all the modules.The practice ability and the actualization are emphasized in the research course,. and we also have done much work in improving and verifying the Gordian technique. After tests showed that the system is reliable and accurate test is the perfect vehicle reversing system trouble-free and effective technology.
