The Shipping Tonnage Measurement Based On Ultrasonic

In order to improve the competition of freshwater shipping output and calculate the transporting cost exactly, shipping tonnage is an absolutely necessary reference. There are many disadvantages based on man power for evaluating shipping tonnage. So it is desiderated to develop the intelligent measurement system of shipping tonnage. The research is based on the Intelligent Shipping Tonnage Measurement Research- the science and technology innovation project of Hohai University. Changzhou.The distance measurement using ultrasonic and Multi-Sensor Information Fusion are used for the Intelligent Shipping Tonnage Measurement System. The ultrasonic sensors form a multi-sensor system to measure the related geometric distance. And the shipping tonnage is calculated using Multi-Sensor Information Fusion technology and Least Squares Curve Fitting.The system design uses LPC2131-an ARM chip of Philips Co., as Micro-controller.The system realization processing is introduced in detail from theory analysis, system collectivity design, system hardware design to system software design. There are great innovations of system hardware and software design. First, the ultrasonic sensor array is divided into groups, in the same group, the measurement is time-division, so the system hardware research is saved in the sacrificing of software research. Second, in the same group, the ultrasonic signals is distributed by the different pulse number, and the echo signal is inspected at the rising edge, so many group signals are dealt with in the same time. Third, as the simulation circuit processing time is affected the ultrasonic wave transmitting time, software compensation is used to improve accurateness. Last, ultrasonic velocity is compensated through temperature sensor and the precision is ensured. The system design is fully used the advantages of ARM chip. And the system circuit frame is simple and reliable.
