Ultrasonic distance measurement system is widely used in the industrial area because of its low price and easy realization. Measurement precision and real-time capability are the most important factors for the ultrasonic distance measurement system. The high precision on-line ultrasonic distance measurement system is designed in this paper, it solves measurement precision and real-time capability at the same time, and has practical value for the industrial area.Methods of the ultrasonic distance measurement and ultrasonic signal processing are indicated based on the development and research results of both ultrasonic distance measurement technology and wavelet transform for domestic and abroad, and wavelet analysis method is analyzed. It mainly studies wavelet de-noising technology in the ultrasonic distance measurement, indicated problems of the ultrasonic distance measurement system currently, and precision of the ultrasonic distance measurement system is summarized. A method of real-time work piece length measurement is pointed out, and ultrasonic real-time distance measurement system is designed successfully. Structure of the ultrasonic distance real-time measurement system is described, main factors which impact on effect of ultrasonic measurement is detailed indicated. Detail error analysis is given, test result shows that the measurement practical error is coincided with error analysis. Mostly the wavelet transform in ultrasonic distance measurement system is utilized to de-noise, eventually the arithmetic of wavelet transform is optimized and emulated by MATLAB. The emulate results prove that the second time de-noise for distance measurement by wavelet transform is better than other traditional methods, the validity and feasibility of ultrasonic de-noising algorithmic based on wavelet transform is sufficiently proved, high precision on-line ultrasonic length measurement is realized.
