With the development of technology, ATS gradually develops toward intelligence, generalization, and modularization. The comprehensive and cross of various test requirements and test tasks require instrument to have effective interchangeability, ATE platform to establish test path flexibly and optimize it and TPS has better portability. When developing the software for ATS, according to the test requirements, it is of great significance to choose the optimized test path allocation combining with the functions and performance characteristics of test resources.The main purpose of the research is to realize the instrument interchangeability, the portability of TPS, the optimization of test path, and finally to improve the test efficiency and reduce the cost.In this thesis, the method of resource management for ATE is analyzed; the management and mapping of instrument resource, the set-up of test channel, the configuration and optimization of test path in resource management are described in detail. On the basis of the method, the two instrument-oriented interchangeability technologies SCPI and IVI are discussed. Then by using object-oriented design method, the ATE resource management software is realized. In the design process, the UML modeling tool is used to model requirement, static structure and dynamic act. The software can complete various status display of instrument in system, instrument communication, IVI configuration store operation, and instrument, UUT and adapter connections configuration. At the same time, According to the requirements of resource management, the path searching and optimization algorithm of the switch using matrix model is realized. At last, the instrument interchangeability and test path optimization are tested by using instrumental mapping, path searching methods.The experiments show that, ATE resource management on instrument-oriented can achieve the mapping from logical instrument to real instrument and optimal allocation of testing path. It can construct ATE platform that is independent from hardware and support instrument interchangeability. Test Program developed on the basis of the technologies mentioned above has better reusability and higher portability.
