The high level architecture (HLA) has become the standardized system structure accepted by distributed simulation field, which has the very good interoperability and reusability and is applied to weapons equipment argumentation and combat training. But the traditional software support platform realizing HLA is based on TCP/IP protocol, which cannot adapt to a kind of simulation requiring strong real-time performance such as the hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation. It is a kind of very good development for HLA application that researching on a HLA-based engineering level simulation system framework that supports real-time simulation such as the HIL simulation by improving HLA mechanism of bottom communication and management services. The paper complete the preliminary implementation of the system framework and compared-test implemented effect of the relevant techniques and algorithms adopted by the framework, which verify that the framework structure basically satisfy the requirements of real-time simulation. Specific research contents and finished works include the following aspects:(1) Combining with the characteristics and advantages of HLA/RTI framework, RTI is analyzed on three levels of service, bottom communication and simulation application to find an approach to improve real-time performance of HLA/RTI framework, then the methods of adopting technologies of RTX, reflective memory and HIL simulation.is proposed.(2) Analysing the traditional HLA/RTI framework's limitations and influence factors of real-time performance and combining with the request and basic process of HIL simulation, an engineering level simulation system framework is proposed.(3) Combining with the characteristics of HLA as distributed simulation and basing on selecting from hardware platform types, a hierarchical real-time framework structure is determined. Specific design of the structure is given in two aspects of bottom communication and management services respectively.(4) The engineering level simulation system framework is realized preliminarily. The validity of bottom technologies adopted is verified. The corresponding algorithms of the main aspects of management services are proposed. From the angle of application, a federal member operation framework which is usable for user is provided. A special federal member - agency federal member of which the action principle and practical operation flow are given is designed in real-time simulation.
