Compared with America, China's investigating report is marked with late start and short period of development, mainly influenced by the political environment then...In the 90s of the 20th century, investigating report in china went through its booming period, attaining unprecedented achievements in both quantity and quality, which, to much extent, profited form the progress made in China's democratic and political construction offering a sound environment to supervision by public opinion. In 1996,to gear to the social need of reform and opening up and the need of its own development, the News Comment Department of CCTV decided to set up a large news column-NEWS PROBE, which has become the most in-depth investigation channel in CCTV now and the first genuine television investigating report program in China as well.After 12 years of development, News Probe has developed from a diversified investigation program into the first genuine television investigating reporting of China, during which it won a good reputation, scored magnificent achievements and formed its distinct style. Nevertheless, many shortcomings do still exist. They mainly manifest themselves in such aspects as low-rate exposure investigation, the relatively poor timeliness of the programs and the drain of excellent on-camera reporters.To get these problems solved and improve the quality of News Probe, we are supposed to analyze the causes and therefore take targeted measures to deal with them. Only in this way can we able to further perform News Probe's supervision role as a news medium and make greater contribution to the harmonious socialist society building.
