Video Surveillance System Application In Urban Mass Transit

Nowadays, with the development of technology, the video surveillance technology has been the important component of public security protection technology, and it is widely utilized in various application fields as finance, museum, hotel, traffic management, transportation, commerce hospital, manufactory, campus and residence area etc. As a floating public with large number of people, urban mass transit is of urgently necessity to strengthen video surveillance.At present,closed circuit television surveillance system has been installed in the station of urban mass transit in several metropolitans in China,and the surveillance to the station has been realized,whereas surveillance system for the train has rarely been used in domestic urban mass transit. In order to prevent abrupt events happening in urban mass transit,and carry out the idea"the scientific concept of development"and"taking people as essence", and ensure the security of people on-board, it is one of the urgent and important missions to develop urban mASS transit train video surveillance system actively.Video surveillance system for the train is different from the common fixed one,and the environment where it locates makes it to be a kind of innovate moving video surveillance system. The whole system involves various technologies such as video transmission,transmission medium,video compression and coding,train communication network,local area network(Ethernet,WLAN etc),system software etc. In this thesis,relative technologies mentioned above have been used synthetically to explore the concrete approach through which train video surveillance system could be realized.According to the need of urban mass transit, video surveillance system for the train consists of two parts:on-board part, which realizes surveillance to compartment inside from cab,and the part including OCC(Operation Control Center)and station,which realizes surveillance to compartment inside from OCC and adjacent station.For on-board part,the thesis brings forward the scheme based on Ethernet transmission by theoretical analysis and combined with real environment of the train, and sets up simulated test bed for this scheme. the data and result of the test proves the feasibility and usability of the scheme. For the second part,brings forward train-land wireless transmission system based on IEEE802.11g WLAN, and gets the actual performance parameter of WLAN after testing in real Metro environment then validates its feasibility for actual project.The studying work on this thesis indicates:Using video and network technology synthetically,and combined with the operation characteristic of urban mass transit,it is feasible to build video surveillance system for the train and realize video surveillance to public security which includes the whole urban mass transit system.
