The Applied Research Of Heterogeneous Wireless Network By Chinaunicom Kaifeng Branch

Nowadays, the wireless mobile communication technology alters from day to day. By looking at the improvements and changes in recent years, the development of wireless mobile communication technology is actually carried out along two main lines. One is focused on the technology of the telecom services which mainly a voice service. The development is moved from 2G,3G and B3G mobile data communications to the development of broadband telecommunications technology; another one is the IT business technology focused development, which appeared in the development of the computer based data communications networks, mainly from wireless personal area network, wireless LAN and MAN to the development of next generation network NGN. The rapid development of wireless mobile communications leads to various technologies such as information technology, multimedia and telecommunications technology, combine one another. Hence, the communication has become a unified whole. With the continuous development and evolution of the network increasingly, a variety of existing and emerging wireless access technologies co-exist, both complement and compete with each other to form the next generation of wireless access network-the Wireless Heterogeneous Networks. The heterogeneity performs in the heterogeneous access environment, the terminal heterogeneity, the heterogeneity of the business, and various operating network in the certification and authentication, billing, QoS and other strategies differences and so on. With the trends of network convergence, service convergence, terminal integration, one of the most urgent demands of the heterogeneous ubiquitous networks is how to provide mobile users and terminals a mobile management to ensure that roaming and service between different networks are seamless.This article mainly explains the author's explorations and results in the convergence of the heterogeneous network of China Unicom in the city of Kaifeng, Henan Province. The article firstly described both the domestic and international progresses in the research area. It followed by an introduction to both the status of the mobile communication network and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) of Kaifeng, China Unicom. By taking these two networks as prerequisite, the article then explained the recent heterogeneous network convergence and effectiveness of the project through the application of the network planning and construction in a University in Kaifeng.In the last part of the paper, the author brought forward the concept of evolution direction of the heterogeneous network convergence. The first is the unified billing statement, and then a unified access and core network authentication. Finally, it is to achieve that the mobile communications network and WLAN are truly convergence through OWLAN methods, and make it more close to China Unicom's network business model. Hence, it is truly actualized that "providing multimedia services to any person in any place at any time".In addition, the author through the introductory words to briefly described the overall solution which China Unicom plans to use. And as for the future, it will also be the implementation methods for solving the issue of heterogeneous wireless networks for China Unicom.
