Campus-based Streaming Video Surveillance System Design And Implementation

In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology as well as the demand of the construction of safe-guard monitoring project including "secure city" and "secure campus",video monitoring technology has become one of the prevalent technologies vastly concerned by modern social constructions. It has transformed from traditional simulate video monitoring, digital video monitoring to digital network video monitoring, which gradually combined with the information management system, thus providing a more direct and effective information service for managers.This thesis is mainly about the use of the existing campus network depending on the advantageous wide band on campus, and the design of network long-distance monitoring system based on streaming media make full-time monitor on some pivotal places such as gate sentry, classrooms, library and dormitories, which help establish a all-wave, integrative long-distance video monitoring platform on campus. The thesis includes the following aspects:Firstly, it introduces the related knowledge of video monitoring technology and elaborates the history of video monitoring technology, the status quo and the meaning of domestic and overseas research in details. It introduces the content and organization structure of the research at the same time.Secondly, it explains the relevant technology of streaming media concerned by the thesis deep into the application of streaming media, transference agreement, streaming media server, transfer structure and so on. It emphasizes the stream transmission, which builds a foundation for the design and availability of this system.In addition, the thesis presents the design process of campus video monitoring system based on streaming media, giving account of the function of every module of the entire system from demand analysis, design thought and the whole structure.Last but not least, the thesis makes a thorough design of monitoring server and client and utilizes them to fulfill the function of each module through the software. As a result, it constructs the entire long-distance video monitoring system and makes a summery and outlook of the design and research of the system.
