In the automation measurement of coal mine's harmful gases, velocity and flow are important measurement parameters. Wind can provide sufficient fresh air to create necessary working condition and dilute harmful gases such as CH4,CO to drop the underpit temperature and guarantee the production safety. The State Administration of Coal Mine Safety clearly raises that mine coal must be in accordance with the principle that first drain last deposit, measuring and monitoring, and production must be based on wind velocity.Wind velocity sensor is one of important device of measuring and remote controlling mine ventilation. There are two kinds of sensors using under pit, supersonic vertex sensor and supersonic time-difference sensor. The sensitive element must be exact and durable to deal with the adverse condition. The vertex sensor which has simple structure, frequency output signal, high precision and steady, is suitable for coal mine.On the basis of analyzing general situation of supersonic vertex sensor, combining the requirement of general technology qualification of the supersonic vertex sensor and 2005 safety regulation in coal mine, the paper puts forward the overall plan of design and discusses in detail its theoretical foundation, implementary methods and the design of hardware and software. The system, which adopts supersonic vertex measurement technique and selects the AT89C52 single-chip computer as central processing unit, consists of some unit circuits, such as supersonic emitting and receiving circuit, digital display, the signal outputs and remote control etc. The software is designed with the programming method of the modularization, and is complied by C language. It mainly includes the subprograms of mainly monitoring, measuring frequency, filter, nonlinear compensation and so on. At the same time, it takes the effective anti-interference measures during the design of software and hardware.It is proved that this system is characterized with high reliability and powerful function by the successive debug experiments. And it has a bright prospect for development and application.
