The Heavy Plate production line is the key project of the 11th five-year plan. In order to improve the quality and output, lower the cost, improve the yieldings, regulate the production on the new production line, we has decided to invest to build the advanced MES based on the advanced architecture and the MES system in the Heavy Plate production line. The goal of the system is to achieve the" build to order" management mechanism of the Heavy Plate; to build the plans of all-in-one production and command system of the Heavy Plate; to achieve the PDCA in the management of the quality; to control and manage the quality with numbers; to achieve the elaboration production, the elaboration action, and the elaboration management; to offer the fundamental information to compute the cost of production and so on; to achieve the integration of ERP; to achieve to manage the inventory with the order form; to achieve to manage the all-in-one tracking.This paper analyzes the background of the system development, the development of domestic and foreign enterprises of MES system status, a brief description about the main problems to be solved; summary description of the overall situation of the system; on the system requirements analysis and architecture design is described in detail; and some representative examples of the detailed design and implementation are described; last but not least, some key issues in the system are described in the realization for system.The paper mainly focuses on the R&D of the Order Process management system of MES. In order to realize the goal of "from instructions to products", which is the product realization process, we complete the order and the material aspects of tracking management. In terms of the remaining products, in order to promote the rationalization of inventory and material substitution, the paper builds the order process tracking platform oriented by the customer to achieve all-round quality requirements in customer satisfaction based on the target system timely delivery.The paper adopted the C/S system architecture, dotnet platform development, and chose a front-end development tool which is VB. In the development process of the project in accordance with the software design concept, we use UML tools to analyze, design and implement it. In short, the main problem in this paper can be summarized as follows:First, realize the order process and material process tracking. The conversion of the order process state is decided by the order of the material progress and the product process. Through the process of three status, orders and material process can be tracked.Second, realize automatic product delivery substitution. Automatic substitution is triggered when outbound from warehouse and production line for the products, according to the rules of substitution sequence on the alternative.Third, realize artificial under the circumstance of steel slab alternative design automation. In artificial slab alternative, according to the singular and plural subject substitution and two ways, design of billet castings, consider trimming, loss rate, and other factors, completed the design of automatic control plate size and slab.Forth, use CMMI L3 of quality assurance measures to ensure the order process management system of scientific research process, thus effectively and standardize the order management system to ensure the quality of software products. The subject, both of the requirement analysis and design process are adopted corresponding quality control measures for the quality of a software product assurance play a good role.System has finished testing and has put into operation. System testing and the operation results show that the order process management system, materials management, management of the slab substitution, etc have reached the expected goal, meeting the company of thickness plate production needs.
