Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is a network using radio to communicate between computers and other network devices. This network is getting more popular nowadays due to its easy setup without using cables.WLAN is used for the same task like a wire which connects the multiple computers because there is no need of expensive wiring. It is very useful as it is simple, easygoing, high speed and low cost to launch. The development of WLAN commercial applications faced many difficulties and challenges globally, such as how for operators to choose a fat AP (Access Point) or thin AP for networking, how to utilize existing resources to build commercial WLANs, how to satisfy Quality of Service (QoS) and realize effective frequency planning etc.In this paper, some practical demonstrations are given on how to use the fat AP and thin AP to construct commercial WLANs, by jointly using AC (Access Controller) Equipment Protection. A comparison between these methods and analysis on AP transmission capacity and the reliability of the implementation are also discussed.
