China is a country who is serious shortage of freshwater resources in the world, per capita water resources is less than serious shortage of water lines, only the 1/4 of world average,the 1/5 of United States, ranked 121 in the world,is one of the 13 most water-poor countries in the world. At present, the vast majority of public water supply situations, Such as:student apartments, staff canteens, etc, are not equipped with water using and monitoring equipment. In addition, the poor civic awareness of water conservation and weak sense of ownership, making excessive use of water and water leakage,which greatly increasing the per capita water consumptiona, a very serious problem. Therefore,it is very important to design an auto reading system of remote water-meters used in the public water supply situations to monitor the main water-using station. It will have an important significance in prevent excessive water use and water conservation.Based on the study of the present research situation and developing direction of auto reading system of remote water-meters at home and aborad, combined with the current popular and widely used network technology, we designed an auto reading system of remote water-meters based on P89C51RD2H to realize real-time water monitoring in public water supply occasions.It has achieved a good results in field application.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1. With the detail analysis of the system functional requirements,We gave system's overall architecture of the auto reading system of remote water-meters based on the P89C51RD2H which has ISP function.2. We gave the design proposal of the RS485-TCP/IP protocol converter based on ATMEGA168 MCU to realize the conversion of the the RS485 signals and TCP/IP protocol signals.3. We gave out the detailed design proposal of the whole system, including hardware frame construction and software design proposal. Hardware system included the design and realization of power supply and system reset circuit, memory circuit,485 bus, real-time clock, water pulse measurement circuit, other major functional modules and so on. Software system design adopted the modular design method, and devided the whole software system into several relatively independent modules including initialization, data sampling and processing, real-time clock, RS485 communication and so on. We gave out its software design concept and the design flow in detail, aiming at every module.4. Using the Delphi language as a development tool, we completed the host computer monitoring system with meter reading management, user management, system settings, report management, real-time monitoring, alarm management and many other features.The practical application of the remote water-meters based on the P89C51RD2H shows that the system has achieved the anticipated effect. The design also plays an active role in water conservation and leak detection, with great value and broad application prospects.
