Early crack and deterioration of many bridge deck pavements have been attributed the traffic load,nature factor and high thermal or shrinkage stress development in the concrete.these cracks accelerate deterioration of concrete and corrosion of reinforcing steel.Especially in the cold area,the concrete of bridge deck pavement swells disintegrate owing to the freezing of water.The box beams crack because of the swelling of water in the box under freezing.The wear of the bridge deck pavement has been influenced badly that service lives have been shorten and the maintenance costs of bridge deck pavement increase.On the basis of summing up the study achievements both home and abroad,this study is conducted to develop several new bridge deck materials that has low cracking potential ,lowpermeability,good durability,and adequate strength and is the same with cold area.The key technical problems of construction and the design of concrete mix on bridge deck pavement,the modified effect of high effect gas forming agent and water reducer,seepage resister, reticulate polypropylene fiber and steel fiber to concrete are studied systematically by many tests and theoretical analysis.The law of flexural strength,the ratio of compressive strength to flexural strength,permeability,abrasion resistance,freezing resist and bending fatigue property is obtained.The technical problems of design and construction on waterproof concrete,polypropylenefiber concrete and steel fiber concrete are probed into ,and the technology construction of bridge deck pavement is presented.The feasibility on application of waterproof concrete,polypropylene fiber concrete and steel fiber concrete to bridge deck pavement in cold area is discussed.According to different styles of the bridges,the reasonable styles of concrete and thickness of bridge deck pavement are presented.The stress is analyzed and the law of stress distribution is discussed when the bridge deck pavement is under traffic load,providing academic gist for designing and studying.
