Study On Technology Of Arterial Highway Safety Enhancement In Plain Area

Through investigating people, vehicles, roads, environment and management of national and provincial trunk highway system in the plain area,the road characteristics, user characteristics, vehicle characteristics and accident features are analyzed and typical highway section are identified. concerning to safety.Duing to reduce the interference of the land development and accessing road on the plain area trunk highway from the source,this paper put forward trunk highway planning technology considering traffic safety,land use planning, highways functions and access control as the main influencing factors.By analysing the road characteristics and traffic accident features of the trunk highway system in the plain area,this paper also put forward safety enhancement technology concerning to highway sections crossing the town and combining sections of long straight line with small radius. Simultaneously, according to the roadside accident characteristics and main security issues existed of trunk highway system in the plain area,this paper put forward roadside safety design method which taking the initiative to prevent and fault-tolerant design as the main design and passive protection as a supplement. Based on analysing the main security issues of highway grade crossing, this paper put forward general requirements on highway grade crossing,including types of application, traffic manage manner, minimum space and sight distance requirements. Traffic organization design methods are also put forward in this paper ,including intersection accommodation lane design, channelization design and so on., improving traffic safety and traffic capacity as the main purpose .Furthermore,this paper put forward the design methods and requirements of grade crossing sign and marking for national and provincial trunk highway system in the plain area, based on the guiding traffic,definiting road right and standardizing vehicles driving track.
