This paper presents the domestic and overseas research status and the develop trend of the remote control weapon station and the significance to study it.According to the characteristics of 12.7mm machine gun, a simple general design scheme is put forward for the automatic control mount which includes a traversing mechanism, a elevating mechanism, a gear reducer and so on. The structure of the automatic control mount is optimized too.The pressure of gases of the interior ballistics and the gas operated device is analyzed. Based on the theories of classical interior ballistics, weapon gas dynamics and automatic weapon dynamics, a mathematics model is established. A dynamics simulation and optimize software of the 12.7mm machine gun is developed. Through the friendly man-machine interactive interface, the stress of the automatic control mount during gun shooting is analyzed. The result curves are shown in this paper. This paper establishes the virtual prototype of the 12. 7mm-caliber machine gun by software ADAMS,and computes the movement laws of the bolt carrier and the barrel, the results are provided and analyzed, the influences on mechanism dynamics when the gun is shooting are concluded, using the Nastran software, the stress and the deformation are also analyzed, which gives the design basis for the structure and the matieral of the automatic control mount. All the results will be useful for advancing the mount.
