In order to improve mobility and precision of light remote controlled weapon station, this article takes machine gun with the elastic tripod as the research object, lightweight design technology is proposed to design structure of weapons platform. The control variable method is used to analyze the elastic tripod’s influence law on muzzle jump of machine gun in single shot and rapid-fire fashion. The elastic tripod is optimized in the end. The main works are as follows:Firstly, based on the functional requirements of remote controlled weapon station, worm and gear mechanism as the driving part is used to design the overall structure of weapon platform. Using language APDL improve the analysis efficiency in a series of operations, including parametric modeling, meshing and loading. Secondly, the modal and dynamics of weapon are analyzed with the finite element method. The dynamic characteristic of machine gun is studied in single shot and rapid-fire fashion. Analyzing muzzle dynamic response of machine gun in various shooting mode can investigate the relationship between structural parameters of elastic tripod and the muzzle vertical displacement with control variable method. The effects of elastic tripod on the muzzle vertical displacement change are obtained at last. Finally, muzzle maximum vertical displacement as the objective function, structure optimization is carried out by zero-order method. The optimized dimension of the elastic tripod decrease muzzle maximum vertical displacement and improve the precision of fire.
