Due to the worsening environment and the increasing awareness of the urgency of"environmental protection", landscape architecture has achieved rapid development in recent years in our country and it's endowed with a rare opportunity for further development. Hence, the major of landscape architecture has arisen and obtained fast development. Colleges and universities of agriculture and forestry, construction and art, as well as synthesis universities, have set up this major or established the landscape architecture curriculum in related specialties, which have been multiplying rapidly. According to incomplete statistics, hundreds of institutions have established relevant professions or courses, and landscape architecture has become a popular major.However, the discipline is still in the initial stage in our country, and the subject education is relatively backward. In spite of the superficial"prosperity", there are many practical problems requiring solving completely, which have seriously impeded the discipline's further healthy development. From the overall perspective, prominent problems exist in the following aspects: unreasonable professional orientation, unclear cultural objective, lack of a reasonable staff-developing mechanism, confusing curriculum, improper teaching methods and so on. Those questions have become a"bottleneck"of the discipline's further development. If not solved, it would inevitably affect the subject's further development.Taking into account of teaching practice of landscape architecture in college, this article analyzes problems prevalent in landscape architecture education, advances some suggestions and measures and reveals profound issues. Furthermore, it proposes methods to readjust the professional orientation, to clarify cultural objective, to strengthening staff development, to promote research on landscape architecture theory and teaching, to establish and improve the system of landscape architecture courses, to develop a multi-level teaching design to cope with the landscape architecture's new situation and new problems. Through the above measures,we can continuously improve the system of landscape architecture education and promote rapid and healthy development of the discipline.
