Gis Supports The Design And Development Of Road Management System

With the development of social economy and need of people's life, the highway infrastructure is being improved constantly; management is complicated day by day. The traditional management style is far from meeting the need of the highway development. To set up a convenience, swift the management information system, which can reflect the actual conditions vividly, accurately, benefit inquiry and editor as well, has already become the trend in the highway management at the new situation.The support subject is rooted in 2005th scientific research project of traffic department of Sichuan Province—the management information system of highway of Deyang city.Based on the analysis of the current application situations of highway management with GIS at home and abroad, and the systematic introduction of rudimentary knowledge of GIS and it's secondary development, ComGIS trend. The management information system of highway of Deyang city, which is carried on overall design, from the requirement analyses to the system goal and it's building principle, especially carried on the detailed design to the database of the system, and the deep discussion in the disposal, memory structure of data and the composing of database. On the basis of the above analysis, the author put forward to a GIS exploiture mode in the highway management system.(1) Solve the management of highway and it's affiliated facility founded on the regular of space geography, based on the figure display, strong spatial query and spatial analyses of GIS.(2) Adopt the integrative management style of spatial data and attribute data to carry on memory and search of the data very conveniently and high-efficiently. All data are stored in the relation shape database management system—SQL Server 2000, which guarantee the integrity of the data and improve the security of system and efficiency of management by operating the database through ArcSDE spatial data engine, not only.(3) Adopt the development style based on system structure of C/S (customer / server) which is ripe in the technology, and takes advantage of the preponderance of LAN.
