There are lots of mountains in most parts of Guangdong Province, with so many slopesalong the whole line of express ways. Slope stability directly affect the safety of highwayconstruction and operations. With the hidden geological phenomena of highway constructionat present stage in China,the geological characteristics of the slope after excavation are verydifficult toaccurately predict before slope excavation. Limited by the above characteristicsofsurvey and design, geological problems of high slopes in mountain high-grade highways inthe investigation and design phase are difficult to completely acquire,which often results ininconsistent of the design scheme and geological conditions. Geological disasters, especiallythe geological disaster induced by engineering activities, there is a gradual exposureprocess.Slope instability caused by road excavation is a gradual exposure process.The landslides of the cutting on Guanghe expressway Huizhou section K95,K97islocated in Huizhou city of Guangdong Province. They were formed by repeated collapse afterthe excavation of the expressway. Based on site investigation mainly,this paper has a detailedstudy of the history of slope disease development and governance. In terms of lithology,geological structure, hydrogeological, human activities,the causes of landslides wereanalysised. In analysis of on-site inspection and monitoring datas the location of the slipsurface and the sliding direction were determined.Then, Control measures of landslidereinforcement are proposed.The design of the K95landslide has been changed two times andthe K97program was selected by the comparing.The success in the management of the K95and K97landslide has provided useful experience for the design and construction of similarprojects in Guangdong Province.
