Following the electric power industry's rapidly developing in our country, the demands of intelligence control functions to the vacuum circuit breakers are higher, such as: real-time switch, high reliability, free maintenance and so on. In the paper, a kind of intellectual control technology of the vacuum circuit breaker with bi-stable permanent magnetic actuator is studied. It is against the present status of the traditional vaccum circuit breaker: complex actuating mechanism, large dispersity of the run duration, difficult controllability to the movement, slowly response speed and difficult carry out to the precision control.At first, the operating principle and characteristic of the vacuum circuit breaker with bi-stable permanent magnetic actuator are introduced. The basic structure framing is put forward of the intelligent driving control mechanism according to the feature and configuration of the vacuum circuit breaker with bi-stable permanent magnetic actuator. On the base of the analysis to the operating principle and the feature of the vacuum circuit breaker, the relation of the electromagnetic parameter and the electric current to the run duration of the moving-iron and the relation of the displacement and speed of the moving-iron to the switch on time and the exciting current are discussed.According to the situation that the mechanism of action of the permanent magnetic actuator is sophisticated, the synchronous on-off's control is effected by multiform factor, the functional mode and the synchronous on-off's control are difficult to refined calculation, the fuzzy and expert intelligent identify rule system to judgement the functional mode of the electric network is put forward, the fuzzy neural network is applied to accurately control of the synchronous on-off.Then, according to the demand of the market that the control unit based on single-chip microprocessor MSP430F149 for intelligent breaker is focused and many functions such as protection, control, measurementare covered. The signals of currents, voltages, active power and reactive power are monitored in real time. The control unit can not only control opening/closing operation of the circuit breaker, but also has the functions of over-current/under-voltage trip, closing/opening interlock for mal-operation, diagnosis and warning for the failure of the operation system.At last, some results and test data from experiments on the vacuum circuit breaker with intellectual control unit are presented. The test results indicate that the functions of the vacuum circuit breaker with bi-stable permanent magnetic actuator are reliable. It can satisfy the applications of the electric power industry instead of imported product.
