Terminal efficiency of air-to-air missile is the evaluation degree when we carry out a prescriptive mission and attain an anticipative possible goal, in other words it is the target destroying degree. There are two aspects in analyzing terminal efficiency of air-to-air missile. One is the research of target vulnerability, the other is the research of warhead lethality. The former is to study the sensitivity degree of hitting the target under missile's function;and the latter is to study the process and degree of effecting of missile to target. Generally speaking, they are two aspects of the same problem— defense and attack, and are closely connected to each other. The analyzing research for terminal efficiency of air-to-air missile has been guiding the demonstration, designation and manufacture of missile system especially warhead structure scheme, the evaluation of damaging efficiency and the determination of the optimized detonation position. However, as the expansion of battle sky, the increase of the velocity of target and the appearance of new armaments, the current analysis model can hardly meets the needs completely, so the current analysis method needs further improvement and perfection.The paper is about the analysis and study of terminal efficiency of air-to-air missile under the background of air-to-air missile and typical sky target, by means of computer simulation with "hit efficiency simulation software of air-to-air missile". Firstly, mathematical models for simulating and analyzing terminal efficiency of air-to-air missile are established, including the missile-target encounter model, the control and guidance error simulation model, the position of fuse start simulation model, the fuze time delay model, warhead model, target property model and three-dimensional geometrical model. Secondly, the demands for each model's function and parameter are given in the analysis. According to the mathematical models of each part, the hit probability computation model and the algorithm of air-to-air missile are given.According to the mathematical models established and experiment of thesimulation, some studies are done to extend the functions on the basis of "hit efficiency simulation software of air-to-air missile" at the background of the virtual prototype designation and simulation environment, research and development of programme transplant optimization, VPM modeling and simulation function extension, the programme of C which has independent function module, establishes function models of missile target choice, encounter condition weighting, fuze, battling part and computation of hitting probability. Some new algorithms and modules of hitting efficiency optimization and 3-D vision simulation analysis are added.
