Airborne dipping sonar is designed for military helicopter to find out enemy submarine in appointed sea area quickly and mobile. Model A airborne dipping sonar is one of the primary airborne anti-submarine equipments on active service in our country's navy. This thesis explored sonar signal processing algorithms and their realization in DSP system for purpose of serving the research of new signal processing system for model A dirborne dipping sonar,and its main contents are summarized as follow:1. Active and passive sonar system, their theorem to detect the target under water and the factors affecting the performance of sonar.2. The signal processing algorithms of new sonar signal processing system, emphasized on the application of amplitude-comparing bearing method in model A sonar.3. The DSP system design with VC5409 based on the signal processing algorithms to realize in new signal processing system.4. The software design of the algorithms based on C54X assembler language, the programming of FLASH and bootloader design of the DSP system.
