Apartments For The Elderly Designed To Explore

With the fast development of China's national economy, the overall.improvement of life quality and the increased demand of living standard of the senior citizens, traditional ideas, principles and methods could no longer be adapted for the current designing of congregating housing for the independent elderly. After a thorough study of traditional designing principles for congregating housing, this thesis introduces new principles and guidelines that could meet the existing requirements from independent elderly. Based on this, the thesis puts forward concrete designing methods for interior and outdoor space and explores the location and site planning patterns for congregating housing, catering for the inhabitant behaviors and psychological characteristics of senior citizens. Free from traditional designing ideas and by systematic and overall study on congregating housing, this thesis would like to offer some enlightenment for the designing and research on congregating residential environment of the elderly.
