Research And Discussion On Urban Apartments For The Elderly

In the21st century, the global wave of aging will come especially the huge endowmentchallenge of urban aging. Because of the huge number of elderly people and the changes offamily structure, combined with a general shortage of housing suitable for aging, thetraditional home care model is difficult to meet the needs of a modern pension. Meanwhile,the establishment of the social pension system is not yet ripe. So how can effectively solve theproblem of urban pension has become an important topic of social concern.With the change of social situation and people’s idea, as an important part of pensionagency, apartments for the elderly began to be accepted by more and more elderly people.This paper argues that urban apartment for the elderly，which is near the city and community,and comprehensives residential, entertainment, health care and other services, is oneimportant way to solve the problem of urban pension. This paper studies the siteselection, planning and scale of urban apartments for the elderly, combined with the methodof theory, case analysis and practice.
