Research On The Comfortability Of Pearl Fiber Underwears

Pearl fiber which is short for Pearl Mixed Regenerated fiber is co-researched by Donghua University and Shanghai New Spinning Technical Center and it has applied to National Invention patent in 2004 as a new type of functional fiber. Pearl fiber is manufactured by adding superfine pearl particulates during the process of viscose spinning and thus make both the inward and outward fiber distributing superfine pearl particulates. It has been tested that pearl fiber contains many kinds of amino-acid and microelement.It also can prevent the skin from ultraviolet ray and launch far-infraed.Pearl fiber can be applied for making underwears for its super advantages in moisture absorption and ventilation and smooth surface that can kiss the skin naturally.The article first introduces manufacture principles and functional tests of pearl fiber including preventing ultraviolet ray and launching far-infraed and its applicably prospect in underwear industry. The direction and method has been proposed which is combining objective tests and subjective experiments to make a synthesis conclusion on the comfortability of pear fiber underwears.Conventional experiments are carried on to test physical performances of knitting fabrics of pearl fiber and its cospinning yarns while selecting cotton,Tencel,Modal and Richcel as comparisons. These experiments includes: fabric moisture-penetrability experiment,fabric permeability experiment,fabric heat preservation experiment,fabric instant touch feeling experiment, fabric capillary ability and pressure.Subjective experiments are takend by strictly controlling the test environment,sample clothes,testees' selection and training and questionnaire's design to make conclusion on comfortability of underwear of pearl fiber and its cospinning yarn.Plenty of first hand data has been obtained building the foundation for future analysis.The data process is done on SPSS data processing system.First,the validity of subjective experimental results are examined by using Kendall coordination coefficient of pairs samples,and the result shows although there are differences between testees,their grades are consistency.Second,the subjective experimental results of four different stages are gathered by adopting Q type of level gathering method,and underwears of pearl fiber and its spinning yarns and Modal and Richcel are in the same group.Third,comparison is done between every two samples of ten different subjective senses by utilizing multiple-layer comparison examination of analysis of variance. In the end,comprehensive evaluation is concluded on the comfortability of twelve underwears made of different fibers of four stages by adopting DPS data system.Through the whole text we can conclude:the physical characters of pearl fiber meet requirements of underwear's. It is favorable for Spring/Summer underwears for its instantaneous heat transfer capability and smooth surface and its good performance in moisture-penetrability and permeability aspects. Cospining pearl fiber with Tencel and Modal doesn't only improve the disadvantage of pure Tencel and Modal fabric but also depress the cost.
