Besides, The comfort properties of these new fabrics were compared with some similar ones and Objective measurement and subjective evaluations were also compared in order to give pearl fiber knitted fabrics an objective and comparable evaluation. Finally, an in-depth discussion on the function was taken thereby consummate the performance of pearl fiber fabric.As China's own developed fiber materials, the essence of the pearl fiber is to add pearl powder into viscose serosity which lead to a uniformly distributed fiber of pearl power. Pearl fiber fabric has a surface gloss and hand feel is smooth and cool, but this is just a subjective feeling which still needs a further study on the performance of yarn and knitted fabrics. Few people set foot in a comprehensive and detailed study and this paper compared the pearl fabric with some common used fabric and lead to a elementary research.Tests show that the interfusion of pearl powder into viscose caused the dropping of yarn intension slightly and an increasing in regain rate. Experimental fabric shrinked a lot after first wash, and contraction of cellulose fiber fiabric is greater than synthetic fiber fabric but almost all above 20%, and we find no significant difference between pearl fiber fabric and viscose fabric.The drape property of the former is better than the latter, but the dropped yarn intension result in a lower fuzzing and ball forming phenomenon. Thermohydro-comfort Property test results show that wicking effect and air permeability of pearl fiber knitted fabrics is better than viscose fabric5. Warmth-retention not as good as viscose fabric but the two have similar moisture permeability. Cluster analysis shows that among all the samples they were the most similar in heat and moisture transfer properties and with a better thermal comfort compared with other fabrics.By analyzing the subjective evaluation of the trial garment we found the existing distinction between pearl fabric and viscose fabric in wearing-comfort. Correlation analysis of the results showed that overall assessment has a prominent relation with muggy feeling, sense of softness, drape and prickle feelings and that drape feeling is the most important factor affecting subjective evaluation. Filament fabric received the best evaluation. Pearl fiber and viscose fiber garment medium and cotton and cotton blended fabrics form the last.In short, pearl fiber fabric not only has a good thermohydro-comfort property as viscose fiber knitted fabric but also has beauty skin effect-pearl particles is evenly distributed on the surface. In addition, the major components of pearl powder is CaCO3 which owns the function of antiultraviolet and this made pearl fiber fabric a good UV shielding object.Generally speaking, functionalily and comfortableness of clothing can not be balanced but with all these functions pearl fiber fabric also has a good wearing performance. It will undoubtedly has a good market prospect.
