With the growing of Chinese influence in the world,the cultural communication between China and England has been more and more frequent,more and more Chinese choose to study or work in England,meanwhile, more and more English has been attracted by the fabulous ancient Chinese culture and the fast developing economic in china, then came to China to study or work.In order to help the Chinese and the English who lived abroad could know each culture well, integrated into each others culture, so the selected idioms about dietary between Chinese and English,would be divided into to diet,varieties,habits,attitudes,ways five aspects for the comparative study between China and England.Aim to the result of comparative result, analysis the differences from the perspectives of geographical, economic and religion.The thesis consists of four parts,the first chapter is introduction,to describe the background, the significance of topics, related research comprehension,the inadequate points and the innovation. The second chapter is the culture comparative of Chinese and English dietary idioms.including the definition of idiom, the classification of idiom, the comparative of Chinese and English dietary proverbs, the comparative of Chinese and English dietary common sayings, the comparative of the rest of the dietary idioms.the summary of the comparative of Chinese and English dietary idioms.The third chapter is the comparative of the Chinese and English dietary idioms in cultural aspects,the definition of culture, the definition of dietary culture, the comparatives between dietary variety, pattern, attitude,habit and tradition.The chapter four is to analyze the difference between China and England in dietary culture from the perspectives of geography, economy and religion, finally,make a conclusion of the similar points of each side.By comparing the Chinese and English dietary idioms could analysis that : First, from the perspective of the linguistic, there has no 1:1 comparatives between Chinese and English dietary idioms,the unsymmetrical reflected the different attitudes between Chinese and English in the dietary field.Second, the difference of dietary cultural between Chinese and English appears mostly in the pattern of manifestation, the connotations of each other are similar,to reflect the common people’s living status,to express the requests and practice of the common people.Third, to research the difference dietary culture between Chinese and English in each culture, could analysis the forming reasons of each dietary culture,to describe such difference in an objective position.The describe of the forming reason from the perspectives of geography, economic and religion absolutely not comprehensively,but this three aspects are the most important points to analysis the difference and similar between Chinese and England dietary culture.
