With the rapid development of economy and society, people's living standards advances Continuously, the demands for people living environment are increasing, new requirements on the residential property management appear, in order to adapt to this situation, not only firm hardware bases is needed in residential property management, but also a modern property management system.Property management in China after 20 years of research and practice, achieved some success, but this time the text information and graphics information is managed separately, and they not integrated into a unified management platform. In this paper, based on the researching of domestic and foreign residential property management information system, the geographic information system (Geographic Information System, referred to as GIS) is introduced into Property Management System, and achieves the unified management of text messages and graphics information, so that the original just form information show is received into intuitive illustrated information. And also realizes the fast query and location which is associated with the location information, the realization of graphics data and attribute data of the two-way query and statistical analysis of all kinds of information, which provides the basis for the decision-making.Software development used ArcEngine components of the U.S. Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) and Visual Basic language. The data is divided into two parts, geographic information system data, and property management information data, both of which use Personal GeoDatabase (personal space database) for storage and management, and through program, the two data are of a seamless connection.Results of this study can make the visualization extent of property management and efficiency greatly increased, which provides the conditions for automation, intelligent management,and making the property playing a greater value and economic benefits.
